Ezoic Earnings: August 2023 Niche Site Income Report

Like a lot of people, I started out my August with a much-needed vacation, which meant less time to work on sites.

I also started a new bulk publishing project (1700+ articles) that took up a ton of my time.

As mentioned when I started these monthly updates, I’m publishing these new income reports on the last day of each month to get fresh data your way.

Plus, it helps keep me accountable to you…because we all know that I will procrastinate on getting these written up.

Also, I want to remind you that these Ezoic sites of mine are smaller sites, which means these monthly updates should be easier for new site builders to follow along with (as well as those of you who are building sites with limited time).

With these being my lower earning sites, they never really get the priority that they deserve.

But still, small amounts of work compound over time.

Note: The sites in this report are only a portion of my portfolio and not the only sites that bring in revenue.

Site 1: Food/Drink Niche

For August, this site got a total of zero new posts up.

Yup, didn’t have time for this site in August.

In Google Analytics, traffic on this site is up almost 71% compared to the previous month…but I think there’s some referral spam there cause Ezoic’s data paints a different picture.

Though it does show that traffic is up by more than a thousand visits.

If you recall, I did a dumb experiment a few month’s back where I changed the domain name of this site and then hammered it with several aged domain 301 redirects.

It tanked the site.

Still haven’t removed those, another month of rising traffic continues to be interesting development.

But the better development is that EPMV increased from $5.13 to $6.62.

So, that’s pretty great to see.

And quick reminder, I enabled Humix on this site earlier in the year but didn’t upload any videos – instead I’m only earning from other people’s videos that show up on my site.

Here’s how much this site earned via Humix for the month –

That’s a $0.20 increase, which is also noice to see. At this rate, I’ll be able to score one item off a fast food $0.99 menu in a single month by year’s end.

Looks like video plays almost doubled, and earnings from Humix just a wee bit behind that.

Here’s what the overall income for the last 30 days looks like for this site:

• Amazon: $99.85

Site 2: Religion/Spirituality Niche

I only managed to get up a single post on this site in August, however I do have a LOT in draft mode – so expect to see a HUGE jump reported in next month’s update.

According to Google Analytics, this site saw a nice boost in traffic for the month of around 12%.

Ezoic is also showing around 1,000 more visits for the month.

The EPMV actually increased for this site from $3.75 to $4.15.

So, not a huge amount but still great to see.

I also (still) didn’t get around to making any new videos for this site’s YouTube channel or Humix.

Yup, that’s a decline from the previous month – wtf?

Still not really gotten any affiliate content up on this site cause it’s just a tricky one with things to promote.

Got some ideas though – just haven’t taken the time to implement.

Site 3: Food/Drink Niche #2

Like site #1 above, I didn’t get any new content up on this site for August.

Also, this is one of the few sites of mine where the old Google Analytics stopped gathering data.

Anyways, GA4 is showing a 7% increase in traffic…I think? I hate GA4.

Yup, small traffic increase also showing in Ezoic.

But that EPMV is a drop from $7.60 to $6.83.

And there it is – a drop in revenue despite a traffic increase.

• Amazon: $11.26

Site 4: Tech/Gaming Niche

This site is no longer on Ezoic.

Site 5: Outdoors Niche

Another site with zero new posts. But I did make a snazzy logo for it. (should’ve spent that time on content)

Google Analytics is showing a 13% traffic increase, with the biggest jump in recent days with the algo update that’s rolling out.

Looks like EPMV went up a bit from $8.11 to $8.89.

Ezoic also shows that traffic increase.

Here’s what the income for the last 30 days looks like for this site:

• Ezoic: $17.20
• Amazon: $7.52

So, that’s a boost in EPMV, a boost in traffic, AND a boost in revenue.

Site 6: Gardening Niche

For this site, I got 7 new articles live but I’ve got a little over 50 articles in draft mode – so big update here next month.

Google Analytics is showing a 2% increase in sessions for the month, with traffic slightly down for the last 7 days – not sure if that’s the algo update or seasonality.

Ezoic also shows a traffic increase…but the screenshot above seems to be showing same EPMV as previous month…not sure that’s likely.

Here’s what the income for the last 30 days looks like for this site:

• Ezoic: $235.18
• Amazon: $234.39

The second screenshot does seem to show a slight EPMV increase for the month, and the revenue from Ezoic ads increased by around $15.

Looking Ahead

Still chasing those traffic numbers of 30,000 pageviews to get some of these sites as secondary sites on Raptive (AdThrive).

Ideally all that content I’ve got sitting in drafts on some of these sites will get me there soon.

Honestly, that’s really my core focus for these sites rigth now.

And, I still need to work on a disavow file for site #3.

And, I still need to get back to making videos for site #2.

And, I need to add link building to my list for sites #3 and #5.
