Ezoic Earnings: February 2023 Niche Site Income Report

As mentioned last month, I’m publishing these new income reports on the last day of each month to get fresh data your way.

Plus, it helps keep me accountable to you…because we all know that I will procrastinate on getting these written up.

Also, I want to remind you that these Ezoic sites of mine are smaller sites, which means these monthly updates should be easier for new site builders to follow along with (as well as those of you who are building sites with limited time).

Let’s hope this report isn’t too depressing since we only have 28 days in the month!

Note: The sites in this report are only a portion of my portfolio and not the only sites that bring in revenue.

**And as always, I’m an affiliate marketer and this post contains affiliate links, meaning I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my link.

Site 1: Food/Drink Niche

This month was about content creation for this site.

I ended up doing a mixture of the high EPMV content that I’d identified last month as well as some articles based on NicheIQ topic suggestions.

Unfortunately, this site seems to be having indexing issues, which is odd because it didn’t have that problem before I made the domain name change!

So, I’ve had to use Search Console to request indexing and I still have a few articles that aren’t indexed yet.

I only ended up getting six new articles up on this site.

And I used Scalenut (use code FOREVER20 to save 20% after the free trial!) to optimize these articles.

If you remember last month’s update for this site, then you know that the EPMV has basically doubled and that’s pretty awesome.

Looks like the content choices I’ve made are working out pretty well, even though I didn’t get much up on the site.

Though you can also see that the daily traffic is still not back up to what it was before the domain name change.

That is a bit annoying as this is the first time that I’ve had such a challenge with traffic after changing domain names.

Anyways, I’ve got a domain from GoDaddy Auctions to 301 to this site, but I haven’t implemented that just yet as I’ve been waiting for the traffic to normalize.

And I’ve also enabled Humix on this site just yesterday, though I’ve yet to create any videos for the site.

Here’s what the income for the last 30 days looks like for this site:

site 1 epmv february
  • Ezoic: $9.40
  • Amazon: $44.98

And I have no idea why this screenshot from Big Data Analytics differs slight from the Earnings Report screenshot at the top.

So, while the EPMV is up, traffic is down and that’s resulted in a decrease in both Ezoic earnings and Amazon earnings.

Do note that we have one additional day left in the month, so these numbers are almost complete.

Plus, Ezoic balances are not finalized for ending month until the 4th of the following month. Just an FYI.

Site 2: Religion/Spirituality Niche

I still have not gotten around to changing the domain name for this site.

There’s two reasons for that.

One, the indexing issues and traffic loss I’m seeing with site #1.

Two, the traffic for this site recently started showing signs of improving and now I’m a bit gun shy about making the change.

What I did do on this site was get up 7 new articles that are part of my AI-assisted content experiment.

Just a quick refresh on that – I get a little from chatGPT, a little from Jasper and then I run it through Quillbot’s Creative setting before editing it myself.

Now that I bought Scalenut, I may end up running the next batch of these articles through its content optimizer.

All in, this is only taking me around 15 minutes to get an article that I can publish – not including popping to Canva to make my featured image.

Since this is an experiment, I’m keeping a close watch on how they’re ranking.

Over the last 7 days five of these articles are in my top 10 in Google Analytics.

ai content experiment

Not amazing results, but considering it only took 15 minutes per article and they’re bringing in more traffic than lots of articles by that expensive subject matter expert…

Unfortunately, the new content still isn’t getting enough traffic yet for me to come to any conclusions about its revenue potential.

So, I’ll just keep doing what I’m doing here and keep an eye on my EPMV for these new articles.

Here’s what the income for the last 30 days looks like for this site:

site 2 february epmv
  • Ezoic: $6.72
  • Amazon: $0.00

Didn’t have much change in traffic for the site, but the EPMV dropped and that caused the Ezoic earnings to drop.

Do note that we have one additional day left in the month, so these numbers are almost complete.

Plus, Ezoic balances are not finalized for ending month until the 4th of the following month. Just an FYI.

Site 3: Food/Drink Niche #2

Even though I had every intention of focusing on affiliate content for this site, I got side tracked by some easy informational topics.

So, while I added 8 new articles to this site, they were all informational.

This also means that I did not get around to finding new affiliate programs for the site.

But since Lasso has that Opportunities tab and I’ve now got it installed on the site, finding other programs should be easy peasy.

Gotta love it when a tool saves you time!

Sadly, this site experienced a slight traffic drop this month, down from 91 visits/day to 82 visits/day.

Not a huge drop, but still not welcome.

Now I just need to get my focus on affiliate content for this site and see if I can’t boost that revenue back up!

Here’s what the income for the last 30 days looks like for this site:

site 3 feb epmv
  • Ezoic: $14.82
  • Amazon: $0.00

Happy to see that the EPMV went up, even though it was just a small increase.

Do note that we have one additional day left in the month, so these numbers are almost complete.

Plus, Ezoic balances are not finalized for ending month until the 4th of the following month. Just an FYI.

Site 4: Tech/Gaming Niche

I actually ended doing exactly what I said I would do for this site.

I added 9 new articles to the site focus on the tech content topics that have been doing well + that have the higher EPMV.

This was actually the first new content to hit this site since September 2022!

And yeah, these are all informational topics.

site 4 feb ezoic earnings

Despite the fresh content and focus on higher EPMV topics, this site is down a wee bit in traffic.

Just an average of 500 visits/day this month compared to 527 visits/day last month.

What’s wild though is that the earnings are almost identical – just a couple of cents difference.

That’s due to an increase in Mediation revenue this month.

But, the awesome news is that EPMV is on the rise. Just wish it was increasing faster!

So, it will be more of the same for this site in March – high EPMV content.

Here’s what the income for the last 30 days looks like for this site:

site 4 feb ezoic epmv
  • Ezoic: $35.87
  • Amazon: $9.05

Do note that we have one additional day left in the month, so these numbers are almost complete.

Plus, Ezoic balances are not finalized for ending month until the 4th of the following month. Just an FYI.

Site 5: Outdoors Niche

I spent a lot of time going through Ezoic’s NicheIQ topics for this site, which resulted in me falling into a deep keyword research blackhole.

That’s because some of the topics led me to other great keywords, which led to more and more of them.

Anyways, I only ended up getting a total of 3 new posts live on this site, with one of them being one of those product vs. product affiliate posts that I really want to work on.

But like site #1, this site is plagued by indexing issues and I’ve had to manually request indexing via Search Console.

site 5 feb ezoic earnings

Despite those stupid indexing issues, this site is showing a slight increase in traffic this month.

And the EPMV is also higher than last month.

Here’s what the income for the last 30 days looks like for this site:

site 5 feb epmv
  • Ezoic: $7.67
  • Amazon: $1.33
  • Other affiliate: $5.50

Do note that we have one additional day left in the month, so these numbers are almost complete.

Plus, Ezoic balances are not finalized for ending month until the 4th of the following month. Just an FYI.

Looking Ahead

As you can likely guess, my plan for March is the same for each site – content, content, content.

And I really need to try to make sure that I focus more on affiliate topics for each site.

Since I didn’t get around to it this month, I need to create and add videos Humix for the two sites I’ve enabled it on to test its effect on overall site revenue in March.

I’m also considering creating a YouTube channel for one of those sites to compare it against Humix.

And I may need to start adding Facebook to my rotation for these sites since I’m having indexing issues with more than one of them.

  1. Thanks for giving a general idea of what I should be earning, I am only starting to build search traffic and for around 2000 page views I made about $6 on a music blog since there is a lower payment threshold I am quite happy with ezoic compared to Adsense since I have to reach $70. I would be happy to cover the hosting costs and recommend ezoic for anyone looking to make something from advertising on a website.
